Been doing different duties at work for the past week and they gave me a whole different schedule to go with. Getting up a little earlier than normal, going to work a whole lot earlier than normal, doing brain work instead of physical work - it's been completely different, and now that I'm just starting to get my feet under me with it I'm going back to my normal duties on Monday. Ah well, something different is always nice for a break.

Meanwhile, getting home early and having nice long evenings with my sweetie has been really great. We've OD'ed on "House." :) One of my coworkers lent me the second season in exchange for me pushing a Hugh Laurie movie ("Girl From Rio" - I loved it!) and my favorite book ("Good Omens" Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen) on him.

I also had the opportunity to listen to two Sherlock Holmes radio shows while I was peeling potatoes for the Thanksgiving feed at work. I've been really going to town with the other medias besides reading, it's weird. I've read hardly any fic this week.

I listened to "The Abby Grange" (one of my favorites because Holmes decieves the police for love! Not his own, but at least it supports the conclusion that he doesn't think the law is always the smartest where love is concerned) and "The Blanched Soldier," which I had never read. That one is great for the slash, though not with Holmes/Watson - he follows up a case for a soldier who's lost his boyfriend.

Okay, off now, must read mail from aunt, have tea, rub my honey's feet and get my own feet warmed up in bed. :)

except it's really a ... quartrefecta?

I can't believe it's actually been over a year since I posted here, last. Certainly doesn't seem that long. Since then I've obviously had a haircut and ... other things cut as well. Breast reduction. :) I'm very happy with this! I was out of work all October, recovering. I've been back to work a week and a half on light duty, and today I get to see if he'll lift my restrictions a little. I do have to keep being careful, though, I can tell - when I do a little too much the scars start burning, it's kind of not happy.

Also, for the trifecta, as a coworker of mine always refers to it, I started back to work with a cold, my period, and a bladder infection. Always fun! :) Someday I'll feel like a normal human being again, but it's been six weeks and I'm pretty tired of it.

But I'm much more relaxed at work after a month off, so that's a good thing.

Oh, as to the why on the breast reduction (I always forget people like to know that) - I had a problem with my shoulder that wouldn't seem to heal up, and when they tried to straighten out my hips, which were twisted, they kept popping back out again, so they began looking for something out of balance in my body. They took a pound out of the left breast and only a half pound out of the right breast, so, yeah, imbalance!
